White weekend, hot and cold
This last weekend before Christmas is all white and very cold, who knows if it's going to be like this on Christmas as well.
Whatever, the fact is that I'm stuck at home. The little one's got bronchitis, and she can't go out. And me (us)? - me and my husband go out one at a time, actually, he's going out, because the little puppy wants her mummy around all the time, if nothing else to give her a hug (every five minutes ^__^), and I'm sitting here all day round. No Christmas baking at the moment. No Christmas shopping. No snowman.
Hey, but I got some snowman marshmallows ^__^
What I do enjoy these days, however, is a nice hot drink. And what's better than a cup of steaming hot chocolate.
I started with the recipe found on my friend's blog, Sweet Corner, adding just a slight change - I wanted the chocolate to be a bit dense, not too much, but not completely liquid either, so I added very little corn starch.
Another great addition were the marshmallows (vanilla snowmen and gingerbread ones) that a friend DD sent me from the States.
And since I was so satisfied with the result I got with the white chocolate, I prepared the regular hot chocolate in the same way, using only dark, unsweetened chocolate (with 75 % cocoa powder) and it was great as well.
You can of course play with the spices of your choice. I added some of my home made vanilla extract, cinnamon and ginger.
Hot White Chocolate
for 2 cups:
160 ml fresh heavy cream
75 g white chocolate
200 ml milk
1-2 teaspoons corn starch
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
cinnamon, ground ginger
Put the heavy cream and the chopped chocolate in a saucepan and heat to a boiling point, stirring constantly.
Remove from heat and add the spices at your pleasure.
Dissolve the starch in milk and add it all together to the melted chocolate.
Put back on heat and cook stirring until you reach desired thickness.
Pour the hot chocolate into cups and sprinkle with marshmallows. Enjoy it while hot!
Cioccolata bianca calda
per 2 tazze:
160 ml di panna fresca
75 g di cioccolato bianco
200 ml di latte
1-2 cucchiaini di fecola o amido di mais
1 cucchiaino di estratto di vaniglia
cannella, zenzero in polvere a piacere
Aggiungete qualche marshmallow e godetevela calda.

ReplyDeletePrelijepe slike!
Jasenkinu bijelu čokoladu sam pravila u okviru fbi rukavica i oduševila me. :)
